NeuroCranial Restructuring is a powerful Endonasal Cranial Therapy delivered over four treatments. Endonasal Cranial Therapy means that we use a small balloon inserted in the nose to release the skull bones from the inside. Although this may seem extreme, endonasal balloon adjustments have been used since the 1940s.
The treatment takes place as follows:
Photos are taken before and after the four sessions to show actual changes to the face, spine and body.
Firm massage is then used to bring greater balance and symmetry to the body by specifically targeting the connective tissue of the body. Connective tissue is key in maintaining the structure of the body.
External cranial manipulation then applies pressure to the skull to bring further balance to the head as well as to release tension in the skull bones. The treatment targets specific areas of the skull to make the treatment more effective for conditions involving TMJ and the jaw, palate, bones of the nose, and the upper neck, for example. My extensive experience with Craniosacral Balancing makes this technique more effective.
The body’s stability is then tested under gravity by pushing on key areas of the body to determine where it is stable and unstable. This effectively maps the body’s stability or proprioceptive function to be corrected through the cranial balloon adjustment.
The body is placed in a specific position to show the unstable areas of the body. For example, while lying on the back blocks or wedges are placed under the pelvis, the legs are bent or straight, the head is forward or backward, and rotated left or right as indicated through the stability testing.
Balloon adjustment: stability testing also indicates which passage of the nostrils the balloon needs to adjust (There are three passages on each side of the nostrils – the lower, middle and upper passages).
What does this feel like? The balloon going into the nostril feels like water going up the nose. There is then a short pressure in the nostril as the balloon inflates and pops through into the back of the mouth. This pressure is very quick – typically 1 to 2 seconds. The balloon is then deflated and removed through the nose.
Stability of the body is then retested and is typically strong after adjusting one side. Occasionally we have to adjust the other side.
One of the unique features of NCR is that by improving both skull function and stability simultaneously, we see an ongoing improvement in the structure and function of the body and nervous system. This is because gravity is the force we are exposed to all day every day. By improving stability under gravity we see an ongoing improvement in these areas as the body ‘unwinds’ or becomes more balanced.
By releasing dysfunctional cranial patterns caused by birth traumas, head/body injuries, emotional traumas or mental stressors, patients understand what it means to have a true sense of well-being in all aspects of their lives.
Optimising structure restores function and helps patients experience better health. NeuroCranial Restructuring focuses on assessment and treatment of the cause, not just alleviating the symptoms of structural misalignment.
relief of headaches, migraines, head/neck/back pain
a wider, more symmetrical face
better breathing and decreased sinus congestion
septum deviation straightening without surgery
increased range of motion in the neck and back
improved mood and better sleep
a younger look because wrinkles disappear when the improved skeletal positioning pulls the skin tighter
relief of TMJ pain and dysfunction
relief of sleep apnoea
relief of sleep apnoea
After treatment, patients routinely:
Stand better, with less stooping, less sway back, fewer hunchbacks, less military spine, and less shoulder and pelvic tilting or rotation.
Are more athletic because the proper positioning of the joints and improved function of the nervous system makes the muscles more efficient. This means they run faster, jump higher, and fatigue slower than before.
See better than before because the symmetrical positioning of the eyes allows for more rapid visual accommodation, making depth perception quicker and easier.
Are calmer, more creative, and think more clearly because the hydraulic functioning of the brain improves when the skull fits the brain more ideally.
